Everything starts with you: your life, your happiness and everything else in between. Remember this: there is one person you’ll stay in love with, your entire life. This one person will be there for you whenever you need her, reciprocating the love you give her. One person that needs your love more than anyone else. And that one person is you. So don’t shy away from loving yourself, doing things that make you happy. If you need help, we have some good tips.
Start your day with a glass of water
When we wake up in the morning, we are slightly dehydrated. This dehydration can lead to a crappy day. Let’s just avoid that, especially since you can. Start your day with a glass of water.
And a warm water bath, in the morning and evenings
Once you are done with drinking water, it’s time to take a dip in it. Taking a warm water bath is not only refreshing but also washes off all the tiredness from inside your body. Take a bath in the morning (in afternoons too if you wish to) and everything will feel so much better.
Write down 5 good things about your day
Each day is filled with good and bad things. But we only choose to focus on bad things, feeling sad and gloomy all day. Maybe a little reminder of all the good things can change the mood and the day? Once you get back home, take a few moments to rewind the day and think about the 5 good things that happened to you. Turn this into a daily exercise.
Have a mini dance party, whenever you can
Remember the feeling of not being able to dance at your friend’s wedding while your favorite song was playing? Who says you can only dance at weddings? Open Spotify, play your favorite song on full volume, and break the floor, whenever you want to, wherever you want to.
Take yourself out on a date at a fancy restaurant
A late-night dinner or a Sunday afternoon buffet is a must now and then. But, finding someone to go with you is only going to lead to plan cancellations. So instead, #GoSolo i.e. take yourself out on a date. Enjoy the lovely ambience, some quality intimate time with yourself, and of course the food.
Sleep for at least 8 hours a day
Sleeping for at least 8 hours a day is very essential, especially in the case of pregnant women. With the constant tossing and turning, the sleeping on the sides, and the regular waking up; they hardly get enough sleep.
Even otherwise, studies suggest that women get far less sleep compared to men. So, make it a habit to sleep for at least 8 hours a day. If you can’t manage that, take frequent naps during the day to make up for your lack of sleep.
That’s all for now. Yet, your self-love isn’t limited to our suggestions. You may have a few ideas of your own. Practise them. The end goal is to treat yourself with the love you deserve and be happy.
