Dear ladies, do you remember what it felt like at the moment when you first held your baby in your arms? We do. And if you haven’t felt what it feels like, let us tell you that it feels amazing.
Having a baby is one of the best experiences you will ever have. After all, you’ll be realizing this amazing power of yours to create a life – giving birth to a tiny piece of you that will grow into another you. But, the experience won’t come easy. You will have to go through a lot of changes: mental, emotional, but most importantly physical. Your body will change. You will grow, sometimes more than you anticipated, and you might start to struggle with your new pregnant self. You might even outgrow your pregnancy clothes. Might even feel uncomfortable about your body and your overall appearance.
Having been there ourselves, here’s a little advice: don’t ever feel uncomfortable about your pregnant self, especially your growing body. Embrace the change and enjoy the experience as much as you can. If you find it difficult, here are a few tips that will help.
Every woman feels differently about her body during pregnancy. Some are comfortable about it and some are not. If you are the later woman, take a moment to applaud yourself. Remind yourself that you are nurturing a new life and you deserve to be appreciated for it.
Put a break on your competitive self
Have you ever found yourself comparing your baby bump with that of someone else’s? With the widespread use of social media and Instagram, it’s hard not to. But, you need to stop it. You need to break up with the competitive side of you. Else, she won’t ever let you understand that it’s normal for someone to have a smaller bump than you, even if you are due at the same time. Remind yourself that you are not the person you are comparing yourself with. You are you and your pregnancy is different from hers.
Self-love is something that shouldn’t be limited to only when you are pregnant. You deserve to be treated with things you like, do things you like. However, pregnancy is a time when you need it the most. Love yourself and your new body. Remind yourself, it won’t be the same for long. Take time to check in with yourself and assess what would help make you feel loved and confident about yourself. Go on lovely dinners, enjoy a relaxing massage, give yourself some quiet reading time, etc. Eat right and find activities that help you relax.
Find clothes that make you feel confident
Feeling confident in your skin is important, especially during pregnancy. And clothes that fit you and are comfortable go a long way in giving you the much-needed confidence boost you need. Consider purchasing a few clothing items that excite you and help you to feel comfortable in your pregnant body.
Summing up, pregnancy will be tough. But focus on the results i.e. your baby and the joy he/she will bring you. The universe will take care of the rest.
